What to Wear to Class

Dancewear Requirements

Girls hair should be worn off the face either in a secure bun for all ballet classes or a pulled back out of the dancers face for all other classes. Boys hair should be neatly combed for all classes. The proper shoes should be worn according to the class.

Proper Ballet and Pointe Attire:

All ballet students must wear a solid black leotard (any style), Capezio ballet pink tights, pink ballet shoes (Capezio or Bloch) and hair should be worn in a secure bun at all times.

Proper Performing Arts, Tap Jam and Musical Theater Attire:

Any style or color leotard, pink, tan or black tights, dancer boy shorts, Capri or long jazz pants or dance leggings, pink ballet shoes for ages 2-7, black jazz shoes for ages 8 and up, black tap shoes for all ages. Hair must be worn out of the dancers face either in a ponytail or with the sides pulled up. Absolutely no jeans, shorts of any kind, school uniforms, baggy shirts or jackets.

Proper Be-Bop and Hip-Hop Attire:

Long, baggy pants or Capri length pants with a camisole, tank top or long sleeve shirt are appropriate. Tennis shoes are recommended for these classes. Ball caps, beanies, bandanna, arm bands, etc. are acceptable. Hip-Hop is about an attitude when you dance, so anything that makes you feel good and play the part of a hip-hop dancer is great. Hair should be worn out of the dancers face either in a ponytail or with the sides pulled up. Absolutely no jeans or school uniforms.

Proper Lyrical, Contemporary and Jazz Technique Attire:

Any style or color leotard, pink, tan or black tights, dancer boy shorts, Capri or long jazz pants or dancer leggings are appropriate. Dancers may wear Capezio foot undeez or bare feet for class. Hair must be worn out of the dancers face either in a ponytail or the sides pulled up. Absolutely no jeans, shorts of any kind, school uniforms, baggy shirts or jackets.
